Tv Commercial Production - How Affordable Is It?

There are plenty of time slots and targeted geography in which to broadcast your TV commercial.  Businesses, both large and small, can reach their local market for only $10-$80 per spot.  They can also broadcast the spot on major cable networks such as CNN, USA, ESPN, and Discover channel.  There are networks businesses can advertise on which cost only $1 per spot.  However, businesses must keep in mind those extremely low cost spots usually do not reach but a few people.  It is best to discuss a TV schedule with an agency that can put together an effective and targeted campaign.  Make sure the agency that is assisting you is capable, qualified, and willing to spend the time to construct your TV Commercial Campaign.  In addition to this, agencies that specialize in TV Commercial Production may also be able to provide the airtime as well.  Usually this can mean additional discounts for the client.

Contrast that with the phenomenon of today known as Super Bowl commercials.  Each 30-second spot costs millions of dollars (in addition to the cost of TV commercial production) and are laden with computer generated graphics, celebrities, and other stunt advertising.  The competition has become so fierce that the advertisement must be hilarious or extremely clever to be remembered, especially to be remembered in a positive light.

As of October of 2009, the most expensive airtime available on a regular television program in the fall was more than $300,000 for a commercial during Sunday Night Football.  While the cost was partially attributed to viewers of a live event being less likely to skip through commercials, the other nine shows in the top ten were all scripted programming (Grey's Anatomy and Desperate Housewives each commanded over $200,000).  Now, keep in mind, these are the most expensive programs – prime time, high-rated shows on major networks.
