Oregon, Texas and Iowa won huge critical wins to stay in contention for the National Championship game during the week of 9 college football game.

No the three most impressive victories was substantial or compelling 10th ranked Oregon, ultimately, dominating 47-20 upset win at home over ranked 4th southern California. Oregon was a 3-point loser in the game.

The USC Trojans had won at least 11 games a season and had 7 consecutive aspects of the game BSC bowl for 7 consecutive years, and now the spell is broken because there is no way to Southern California can win 11 games this season. With another defeat, 8 USC run straight BCS bowl game would also be in danger.

The victory pushed the Ducks to 7-1 and dropped the Trojans to 6-2 and, perhaps more importantly, at the top Oregon left the Pac 10 Conference race with a 5-0 mark and pushed the undefeated USC in a 3-way tie for 4th place in the 3-2. The loss was the worst Trojan since 1997, when they were beaten by the Washington Huskies 27-0.

The Trojans entered the game 16th nationally in both scoring defense and total defense, and flew home defense in disarray.

How to convince Oregon was upset? This convincing double jeopardy Jeremiah Masoli Oregon threw for 222 yards and a touchdown and ran for 164 yards and scoring another. Redshirt freshman LaMichael James ran for 183 yards and a touchdown in Ducks amassed 391 yards rushing in the 5th best defense in the nation by land. USC's defense surrendered 613 total yards to Oregon. The loss was the worst Trojan ever to coach Pete Carroll in his 9 years at USC.

None of the three key victories was more important at the top of the 3rd ranking crush Texas 41-14 Disease Longhorns win on the road-over 13 in the ranking of the State of Oklahoma. Texas led 41-7 after three quarters, when the Longhorn quarterback Colt McCoy left the game forever.

The Cowboys (now 6-2) allowed McCoy 16-go-21 for 171 yards and a touchdown, and the Longhorn defenders Curtis Brown and Earl Thomas each returned an interception for a touchdown. The win keeps the Longhorns finally (8-0) in the running for the national title game, especially if one of the Florida and Alabama lost in the final stretch now.

None of the three victories was more exciting than the 4th quarter of Iowa, come from behind 42-24 victory over 4-5 Indiana team. The Hoosiers led 24-14 after three quarters and looked like burnt toast Iowa, but the Hawkeyes exploded for 4 touchdowns last quarter to win the 4th quarter 28-0, and play.

Iowa Ricky Stanzi threw 5 interceptions before the explosion, which started with an interception and TD return of 86 Tyler Sash yards. The score turned the Hawkeyes defense as Stanzi then made their errant ways, connecting on a pass Marvin McNutt 92-yard touchdown, and Darrell Johnson-Koulianos a touchdown pass of 66 yards. Weghe Brandon added 6 and 27-yard scoring run to end the quick comeback.

Iowa has made a career of winning close games this season 7 of 9 wins Hawkeye has been a 11 or fewer points. Last year, Iowa lost 4 games by the combined total of 12 points. The Hawkeyes perfect 9-0 record is the best start in school history.

There were 4 teams ranked this week by disorders teams Unclassified including North Carolina, South Florida, Tennessee and Auburn.

Graduation North Carolina (5-3) was called the Virginia ranked 14 Tech (now 5-3) and upset the Hokies 20-17. Unranked South Florida (now 6-2) traveled to 20 in the ranking of West Virginia (now 6-2) and alter the Highlanders 30-19. Graduation Tennessee (4-4) upset 21st ranked South Carolina 31-13 at home, dropping the Gamecocks to 6-3 on the year and shows that the computer has the best defense.

Unranked Auburn (now 6-3) upset of 24th ranked Mississippi 33-20 at home, Ole Miss fell to 5-3. Can we now simply stop talking about how big the Rebel team will be this year? Mississippi was ranked 10th in the preseason Top 25 Coaches Poll.

Four other teams classifieds home with away victories, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Penn State and Miami (FL).

Undefeated and ranked 5th in the Cincinnati (8-0) beat the 100th Syracuse 28-7 ranking, scoring a touchdown in each quarter to cause a slow and painful death in Orange.

Ranking No. 11 Georgia Tech scored 28 points the second half of the ranking 129th weapon Vanderbilt 56-31. The Yellow Jackets' victory was not impressive as they surrendered 31 points to a bad team, but at least its offensive scored touchdowns in each quarter, and at least two touchdowns in 3 of the 4 quarters. Georgia Tech is now 8-1 on the season.

Penn State (8-1) beat the 98th meetings of the Northwestern Wildcats 34-13 ranking. Northwestern (now 5-4) was 9-4 a year ago and lost a game extra hard to Missouri 30-23 in the Alamo Bowl. Joe Pa and his 12th ranking Nittany Lions still must beat Ohio State and Michigan State have much to boast about since beating 4 selected and pastries on their way to 8 wins so far. Penn State unit would play another team of scouts to achieve a victory if they could get away with it.

The ranking 18th of Miami Hurricanes (6-2) needed two touchdowns 4th quarter to cut the ranking 65th Wake Forest 28-27. The Demon Deacons led 27-14 after three quarters, but folded when it counted in the 4th quarter, Wake Forest should make a good team of three quarters.

Nine other teams ranked won at his home in Florida, Boise State, Texas Christian, LSU, Houston, state Ohio, Utah, Oklahoma and Notre Dame.

No. 1 Florida was 8-0 playing 35th ranked Georgia, 41-17, as the Gators continue rolling to another unbeaten National Championship game and a defense of his 2008 National title last year.

# 6 Boise State was 8-0 at the hands of ripping apart a terrible 1-6, ranking 97 San Jose State team 45-7 in a game of children.

No. 8 Texas Christian ended a 3-6, 113-highest ranked team UNLV 41 to nothing, that describes very well rebel team this year. UNLV has not been a bowl game since 2000, is a good thing that the rebels Bowl chalked up a century earlier, as it can not do it again to another 3000 to speed up they go.

No. 9 LSU (7-1) shut out the 2-6, 145 Tulane Green Wave ranking 42-0.

No. 15 Houston (7-1) had their hands full with the ranking 73rd Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles, winning in a shootout just real, old-fashioned, 50-43. Southern Miss was ranked 25th nationally in scoring defense entering the game, so the Golden Eagles had a defender and Houston could not stop 3rd ranking scoring offense.

The Houston Cougars, who have no total defense (which ranked 112 among 120 major college teams), they did what they always do, gave a series of horrific points. If Houston had no offense, the Cougars probably lose every game 26-0.

No. 17 Ohio State (7-2) ended a 3-6, ranking 148th of State New Mexico team 45-0. The Buckeyes led 45-zip after three shower rooms and decided early in the 4th quarter.

No. 19 Utah approached Another unimpressive 22-10 victory, this time by ranking 107 of Wyoming Cowboys. Despite his impressive record of 7-1, the Utes must beat Texas Christian and Brigham Young for be in any discussion about who is good at the national level.

No. 22 Oklahoma (5-3) won 42-30 in a mediocre performance in a team Kansas State 5-3. Now you know why the Sooners are 5-3 and going nowhere really.

The No. 25 Notre Dame fighting Irish (6-2) might have surprised themselves in order to be entitled to crush an unfortunately weak bowl 1-7, ranking 119th of the Washington State team, 40-14. Last year Washington Huskies were a winless 0-12, this year the Washington State Cougars are so bad.

Eight teams unclassified became bowl eligible this week its 6th victory, Wisconsin, Rutgers, Boston College, Texas Tech, California, Temple, Troy and Ohio.

Wisconsin (6-2) shut out Purdue in a Big 37-0 Be face to face. Purdue two weeks ago was a huge 26-18 upset of Ohio State visit, and this week became the Boilermakers a doormat for badgers, and nothing better could describe the high and low for a college football team.

Rutgers (6-2) 28-24 Connecticut returned after leaving the Huskies score two 4th quarter touchdowns to cut the margin. Remember Rutgers, is that New Jersey school on the east coast, where the sportswriters and sportscasters all you play great football, but others also suffer from delusions.

Boston College (6-2) beat visiting Central 31-10 in Michigan. The Central Michigan Chippewas (Now 7-2) was lucky that this loss was not a rival Mid American Conference.

Texas Tech (6-3) pulled 42-21 Kansas, California (6-2) held outside Arizona State 23-21, Troy (6-2) beat Louisiana Monroe 42-21, Ohio (6-3) nudged only a pathetic, 163rd-ranked Ball State team 20-17, and Temple (6-2) used a field goal in 4th quarter to edge a 6-3 Navy team, 27-24. The Temple Owls have won their game 6 in a row, their worst winning streak since 1974.

Three teams were idle this week-No. 2 Alabama, No. 17 Pittsburgh and No. 24 Arizona.
