College Football Stats Total Defense
Buy, view or Pass - Week 8
Buy, Watch or Pass
Each week, I will examine some of the more obscure top performers in Fantasy Football. These are the names I came across in Week 8:
QB's
Steve McNair, Baltimore Ravens 159 yards passing, 23 rush yards, 3 Total TD (2 Pass, a Rush)
Brian Billick fired his offensive coordinator after Week 6 and took over the play calling duties. After a game, so far so good. Steve McNair issued its highest-rated QB of the season along with three total touchdowns dominate Ravens at New Orleans effort. Still, one game does not define a season, and certainly not destroyed these sub par outings in advance either. Still only 200 + yard passing game this season and the rest of their schedule is nothing to be excited about either. It can be an efficient starting quarterback for the Ravens, but not for your Fantasy team. PASS
Seneca Wallace, Seattle Seahawks 198 yards passing, 3 TD, 2 INT
With Matt Hasselbeck for 2-4 weeks, Seneca Wallace got his first start at quarterback against the Chiefs. His performance was a bit of everything. The TD 3 are nice, but the two interceptions and 50% completion percentage is not. Wallace is listed only 5'11 ", much shorter than what our scouts, so the low completion percentage can stay. Seattle also does not have much of a game running, currently ranked 26th in the NFL. Certainly, he will get his pitches in, but if a defense is expecting to spend all the time, losses turnovers are more likely to occur. If Hasselbeck was for the year, would be an interesting guy to watch because of some confrontation good time in Seattle. However this is not the case, and for the short time that is beginning, does not guarantee a roster spot in fantasy. PASS
Sage Rosenfels, Houston Texans 186 yds passing, 3 TD, 1 INT
David Carr committed three turnovers (one interception and two fumbles), who took him on the bench in the final third. Sage Rosenfels came in and did a good job of the Houston Texans, engineering three touchdowns and nearly pulling a comeback win. After the game, head coach Gary Kubiak was firm that Carr was still the starter. Carr has played well this year, taking into account that has not had much support from the ground game or offensive line. Carr will the holder the rest of the year unless there is an absolute debacle. I do not read too much. PASS
Vince Young, Tennessee Titans 87-yard pass, 44 rush yds, 2 TD Total (1 Pass, 1 Rush)
Vince Young had his best fantasy game on Sunday, but was against the lowly Houston Texans. His statistical line may not seem much, but you get more fantasy points for touchdowns and yards, which is where young people value lies. It has some nice battles along the way, but it is hard to trust a rookie quarterback to lead your fantasy team to victory. Especially one that completes less than 50% of his passes and played on the Titans of Tennessee. PASS
Damon Huard, Kansas City Chiefs 312 yards passing, 1 TD
This guy continues to surprise me. Damon Huard took another solid start Sunday and has the staff in a mark of 4-3. With the uncertainty that hangs around Trent Green, Huard makes an interesting collection. But buyers beware: Seattle was the final stage has good Kansas City. The rest of the defenses are going to face brutal. Huard also needs to work on ball security, as clumsily made eight times this year, five of which have been lost. It's hard to argue with someone who keeps presenting the results, but definitely not a purchase, even as a backup QB. I have to do more, especially against these defenses he faces. CLOCK
Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys 270 yards passing, 1 TD, 1 INT
If you had the chance to see the Sunday Night Football, which undoubtedly came to witness the start of the fair was Tony Romo in Dallas. While completing 66% of his passes, Romo showed the mobility and the ability of moves in the race you need a QB to have to win against these defenses faster today. All that was announced in the preseason and practices about him was true. Although it was only his first start, Romo is not a rookie and is familiar with the offensive scheme of Dallas for 4 years. With a multitude arms and incredibly lax schedule against pass defenses not miss this opportunity! BUY
RB
Mike Bell, Denver Broncos 136 yds peak, 2 TD
From Terrell Davis went down with an injury in 1999, Denver has produced four different search engines of 1,000 yards. All fantasy owners years get headaches trying to figure out who will get the bulk of the carries in Denver's backfield, because you know that someone is going to get, and they produce will. Seemed Tatum Bell had a stronghold on the position, until, of course, the other Bell, Mike Bell, runs for 136 yards on 15 carries with 2 TD compared with Sunday Tatum 27 yards on 13 carries. Tatum still has the starting job, but Mike looks to be eating up most of his carries. It is clear that anyone that is running in Denver is a shame roster spot, but I hope you have a bottle of Excedrin for headaches that will have trying to figure out this mess. Pick him up if available. BUY
Wali Lundy, Houston Texans 116 yards rush, 33 rec yds, 1 TD
Wali Lundy arrested at the scene of fantasy in the Week 7, with a good performance against Jacksonville, and went on to say that last week against Tennessee as well. Lundy has a stranglehold on the starting job, and Texans not letting go, taking into account competition has done nothing so far. The only concern right now is that Houston will be playing catch up most games and therefore forced to pass more than run, so be careful with the risk involved. Houston has a good stretch of weak run defenses they will face from week 11 with Buffalo. Lundy is of great value, especially in fantasy football playoff time. Right now, while you have a chance. BUY
WR
Chris Henry, Cincinnati Bengals 81 yards rec, 1 TD
Talented but troubled wide receiver Chris Henry was in trip on Sunday and have contributed very well with five receptions for 81 yards and a touchdown. Henry had been inactive the last three games which included a suspension of 2 games for violating the NFL policy for substance abuse. Henry has also been arrested four times since December 2005, so that the risk of losing is high. It was a very receptor talented wide at the University of West Virginia who slipped into the project because of problems off the field, otherwise it may have been selected in first round. In recent Henry has three games played, with 263 yards and 3 TD. As for Cincinnati schedule, has something of great value in the short term until week 14 when the rest of his season will be very hard. While it is difficult to Baltimore in fantasy QB is due to turnovers, the wide receivers have done quite well against them, and they play Cincinnati twice the rest of the year. Given that there is not much out there, take Henry for help in the receiver. BUY for short term
Eddie Kennison, Chiefs of Kansas City 132 yards rec
Eddie Kennison has had the misfortune of facing high school too long. Has had only two games so far favorable, Week 4 against San Francisco last Sunday against Seattle, and a good performance in both those games. Without a supplementary number 2 receptor, which has to face the top corner each week, making it difficult to have great games. Looking at the rest of his schedule, which has a good battle next week against St. Louis and confrontations good in Week 13 against Cleveland and Week 14 against Baltimore. In addition to these, which will have a hard time doing anything else. I hope you have other options. BUY if you want the 3 games of Otherwise PASS
Reche Caldwell, Patriots 84 rec yds, 1 TD
When New England did not give in to the Deion Branch contract demands, he sent and Reche Caldwell was one of the Patriots starting wide receivers. He really has not done much until Monday night thrashing of the Vikings, where he caught seven passes for 84 yards and a touchdown. Caldwell showed promise in 2004, where he went to a great start, but landed on the IR six games this season. While Tom Brady may be their most important asset, it could also be its biggest downfall, because Brady spreads the ball so well (he completed a pass of 10 different receptors) and limited the number of touches to get into a game. However, it has some pretty good battles down the road, so keep your eyes on him. CLOCK
TE
Owen Daniels, Houston Texans 99 yards rec, 2 TD
Owen Daniels came out of nowhere on Sunday and caught nine passes for 99 yards and 2 TD. After all is used as an objective threat line to start the year, both Carr and Rosenfels were aimed at him the whole match, showing that it is possibly from Kubiak will add more in the game plan. While it remains to be seen, Daniels is the owner of Houston closed end and now makes a total of five TD on the year. Receive a consistent final fantasy tight is hard to find, so keep a look out the next couple of games to see how it goes. CLOCK
