What position should play football at school i?
I am a man, 14 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 138 pounds approximately and wants to audition for my high school football team when the school year starts in September I'm pretty slow going, but I've been running at least 4 times a week and the summer plan to run 7 times a week. My skills are catching above average but not great, that the ability frequntly I am also working. I lift weights about 5 times a week but plan to go to a gym before you get better results. Since I am not fast i plan not to be a wide receiver or a runner. Of In fact, I'm hoping to become a tight end or a linebacker if I'm big enough. I need your opinion though on what to test and what I should work. Remember I'm slow, good but not great, catching, and I am pretty good at getting around defenders. PLEASE HELP I'm also pretty good at fighting one, never I suffered no serious injurys. I also know lots of the rules of football.
First, you should not run a lot. Sprints are the way forward, although in the long term once a week is good for the cardio. Just make sure to do your research to get a good workout routine and diet, and if you have any problem with this, an e-mail and I'll send some sources. But in order to see what happens after this summer. If you get really fast, but not as big and strong, could be a DB or a receiver. If you get really strong, but not too fast, maybe a defensive end, and if you get strong enough and fast enough, I think that the linebacker is for you.
