Remembering "Buhay-Estudyante" - the college life?
During his college years, what are some of the slang, idioms or acronyms that was commonly used and understood only by the student community in your university? Would you mind sharing some with us? Here are some of my (other) alma mater --- * All Night (to pull a ...) - A common phenomenon, especially when it's time for finals. * Co Ho - The Coffee House. A place for java late at night, music, backgammon, study and beer (for those over 21). * Dead Week - The week immediately preceding end of the week. It is intended that students study feverishly during the week. * Source Salto - A common activity after football games. * La Granja - Campus nickname derived from the days when horses rather than students roamed in what once was the estate of our founders. Oooh, we a lot of things: Peyups - UP, said the opposite. It is basically the school nickname. Hell Week - the week before finals week, when all the teachers seem to have this agreement to establish in other periods. AS (e-s) - Faculty of Arts and Sciences Toxic - when you're so busy with crap academic that you can barely breathe TIBAK - Activists Kule - The Collegian. Ikot official school publication - the jeep tour around the campus of the UP. TOKI - unlike other Ikot (A DER-) - Students from other schools that turn out to be prowling the halls Peyups. Bat Cave - the connection area of the Board of Rizal and Andres Bonifacio Gusaling in AS, which seems cache totally as Batman. Rob - Robinson malate. Also known as the Students of UP Manila. Barbaro - A student who does not belong to any organization or fraternity. Wafer - The statue of the offering. I miss college. ^ _ ^
