Is it common for college athletes to be like around 27, 28 years old?

i thought college players could be no older that like 22 or 23 years old, but i was watching this Texas A&M football game and heard the announcer say that one of the safetys was 27 years old. is this common? and what is the age limit?

That isnt common but its possible. There is no age limit. There was a 50 something year old kicker is a division 2 school. As long as they are a full time student at the school they can play, if they are good enough.
