College Hockey: A few notes

College hockey is one of the many sports of the school in which students apply to eligible for an athletic scholarship. With an athletic scholarship, students can play the sport they are talented, while pursuing a college degree.

When hockey began to emerge as a popular sport in Canada, went through any official name. Refers in contrast to how Hurley, Wicket, Ricket Rest and The Shins. The origin of the word hockey is itself a contentious issue. It states that the word is derived from hoquet French word that means "a shepherd's crook." However, there is a history in the city of Windsor, Nova Scotia, in conjunction with one Colonel Hockey, who used the game to keep troops healthy and energetic. It says the game soon took its name, as people spoke these military exercises as "Hockey Game."

Hockey was considered an amateur sport until 1904. This was when the first professional league hockey was created. Curiously, it was created in the United States, and was called the International Pro Hockey League. Three years later, the National Hockey Association (NHA) was formed. However, World War I threw the entire hockey establishment of confusion, and the men in charge of the CNS suspended operations.

Some of the larger schools with top-level hockey college programs have large recruiting budgets, but most do not. An individual has to let the college you want to attend what you can do to improve their college hockey team.
