College Football Coaches On The Hot Seat
Which College Football Coach is on the Hottest Seat?
I think Callahan may be safe for a while since they sacrificed the AD, so who else moves to the top of that list?
Callahan keeps his job for two reasons, he is still the best man to move the 'Huskers into the modern era of college football, and the AD being sacrificed like a pawn on the board of University politics.
Charlie Weiss has one of the most air-tight contracts in college football, so he has the time to turn around a program that is starting to stink on ice. The best thing that Notre Dame can do to help the man out is to join a conference. Sure you might lose a couple of traditional games from the schedule but the recruiting benefit alone will make his job easier.
The Right Reverend Houston Nutt keeps his job this year because of the off-season freak show from last year. He still brings out a competitive team every week and recruits his state better than any other coach that has held his job.
Ed Orgeron is keeping his job, because he finally has the Ole Miss fans seeing some light at the end of a very long dark tunnel. His team has played their collective hearts out for him this season and that is enough along with a good recruiting class to keep his job.
Sly Croom at Mississippi State keeps his job because he beat Auburn and has his team drinking the Kool-Aid. If he can get himself a more durable quarterback on campus then he is set up for a run in the SEC.
Dave Wannstedt at Pitt, is gone I'm afraid. He won't pass go and will not get the 200 bucks. He has not improved the program, if anything his pro mentality has hindered it's progress.
Jeff Tedford could be lured away from Cal if the school doesn't pony up the money for better facilities. He has been begging the school for several years to improve the facilities for recruiting purposes and if they continue to ignore his requests then another team that is willing to spend the money on him and the football facilities could wreck the Bears plans.
