Quarterback is eligible receiver?
We were doing some pick up football and became a good game, in sixes. One play we did was hiking the ball to the quarterback. QB threw back the ball to the RB. QB was cut at about ten meters and threw the body of Field Marshal a gain of ten yards. Someone on the other side was screaming saying he was a quarterback ineligible receiver. We have said that anyone not in the line of scrimmage is an eligible receiver. He arrived immature in discussion with the boys, citing their coaches of the past. In the history of football has the eligibility of the QB as a receiver changed? What is the current standard in high school, college and professional football?
the QB is eligible whether or not it is directly from the center or a shotgun, as long as the ball is passed back and the ball does not pass the line of scrimmage, so in a pass play or if the receiver is behind the quarterback RB field of view a fumble
