college football depth charts

Hey I'm in Cincinnati and the Bengals have troubled players!

Just dropped from a small plane in Ohio to begin my college exploration Travel and Bengals football are certainly raise the eyebrows of locals in Cincinnati.

Why, if the owner Mike Brown issued a public statement after the Bengals drafted linebacker Ahmad Brooks former Virginia? Second-year receiver Chris Henry, and 2006 draft picks up Frostee Rucker and AJ Nicholson have been charged with criminal offenses in recent months. When the Bengals have drafted were aware that all three got into trouble during his college career.

Now Brooks is the talk of the town as it was booted from his team at the university by former Jets coach Al Groh and the team chemistry comes into question. Coach Marvin Lewis has done an outstanding job, but is under control to turn what looks like a blind eye to the situation.

The Miami Herald, citing two sources reported last month that Brooks kicked Groh (6-4, 259 pounds) out of the program of repeated drug test failures.

Linebackers coach Ricky Hunley attended Brooks pre-draft workout and was selected to conduct the session. Hunley was an assistant coach at the University of Florida in 2001 and is familiar with Brooks of those days as a potential recruit.

The receiver Chris Henry has been arrested four times since December on charges ranging from marijuana possession in Covington serious weapons charges in Florida. Defensive end Frostee Rucker, the team's third round at the regular April draft, is facing charges of spousal abuse and vandalism in Los Angeles. Fifth round draft pick AJ Nicholson was arrested in May in Tallahassee, Florida, on charges of theft. The linebacker had been sent home in Florida before coming to play in the Orange Bowl in January for violating team rules.

Brooks, whose father, Perry, was a defensive tackle in the NFL with Washington 1978-84, recorded 117 tackles in his first year in 2003 to drive in Virginia and earned All-America honors in his second year with a season that included 90 tackles, eight sacks, 10 tackles for loss, two interceptions and 11 quarterback pressures.

His project is a successful stock last season when they lost five games due to knee, ankle injuries and back. Brooks issues off the field also hurt his draft status. He was arrested on charges of marijuana possession in 2003 (the completion of the diversion program) to go along with the allegations of failed drug tests last year. Greg Williams, Brooks' agent, presented information to attendees at the training June player that Brooks had passed drug tests over the past two months.

Brian Simmons, David Pollack and Odell Thurman (last year two best draft picks) the Bengals head to pre-camp depth chart at linebacker training. Thurman missed the minicamp last month, for reasons Undisclosed personal. Among the potential backups, only Hannibal Armed and Marcus Wilkins has more than three seasons experience. Landon Johnson, a third-year player, started 21 games and has shown the versatility to play all three positions.
