College Football Field Goal Rules

Football dominant?
So I was explaining to my wife, who in the NFL you're not down if you slip on your own, until someone touches below. But in college, you're down as soon as his knee touches the ground, even if nobody is near you. So I asked why the work is not killed when the field goal holder catches the ball with his knee on the ground. What I can I say?
For Rulk a placekicker has to be controlled in soil and the rules allow a player to have the ball and be postioned on one knee to do so with ease. Remember in college and play SA can not throw a pass with his knee still on the ground (in a fake, for example), should be launched to do so or if the ball becomes dead.
