College Football Homecoming Vs. Boyfriend's Co-worker's Wedding?

My boyfriend's co-worker is getting married the same day as my college's homecoming game. I can't go to both as they start at the same exact time.

My boyfriend really wants me to go to the wedding, but I don't really know the person (people) getting married. I don't think I've even met them.

My college is doing really well this season. We are ranked in the top 5 this upcoming weekend., and there are only 2 more home games left. It's my senior year. And since I am graduating, it is the last year I get to be in the student section. (which is the best place to be for a college football game) The other home game is the day after Thanksgiving, and at least half of my friends aren't going. All (except one) of my friends are going to the homecoming game.

I've had some friends tell me to pick one; some friends told me to do the other. I decided to see what others might do. Which would you pick?

Talk to your boyfriend. Let him know that you really want to go to the ballgame. It was planned and hey, look at your teams standings. Ask him to go and "represent" you at the wedding. Or better yet. Let him know you will compromise with him. You will go to the wedding but you HAVE to be at the second half of the game. If that means leaving immediately afterwards then go for it. Of course you could tape the game and watch it later, then go to the wedding. Hard call. In my relationship with my wife, I think I would go and represent us both and let her do her thing. I mean, it was just my co-worker. Frankly, truth be told, since I just work with the guy and he is a buddy of mine, I probably would skip out too. I mean, the day is all about them, and they want to know everyone is happy. They would probably not even notice you not there. But your boyfriend will.

Again, talk it out. Think outside the box. Be sensative to his feelings but your own as well.
