College Football Knee Braces

Why do all College O-Linemen wear knee braces?

I have been watching all the college football bowls lately and have noticed that all offensive linemen wear knee braces on both knees. I think it is safe to assume that not every single one of them has blown both knees so i was wondering why they do it. Obviously it is preventative (i assume) but is it something that is required by NCAA or something that is just done to help?

it is not required by the ncaa but it is to a point now where it is a consensus thing.. bill parcells really ushered in this concept into football when he started to make his o lineman wear braces.. the braces help out tremendously and can save a severe knee injury which otherwise would occur without it..
