How to get a job or internship in sport?

Ok so I am 16 years old, almost 17 and live in the southern suburbs Chicago. My neighbor is 17 and is the Starpoints your stripes Reporter for ESPN. I'm not quite sure how it came to that position. I would like to start work in achieving a career in the sports world too. I am looking for a way to maybe get an internship or something to that effect. I am a sportsaholic. I can say anything about baseball, basketball, football and hockey. Pro or College. Good skills as a writer, good talk, and have knowledge of the players, sports, and universities. Can anyone tell me how I can start or find an internship to start as a high school student? Thank you very much.

Why do not you ask your neighbor? Since I already started.
