Going to Intense JC baseball program, how to best prepare for the upcoming season?

I just signed on to play baseball at a nationally ranked community college (Great!) and then was given a list of things they expect recruits to be able to do (physically) by the 2nd week of the season, which unfortunatly was not so great. Recruits are expected to be able to (by October 1):

1.) 1.5 mile trail run in under 8 minutes
2.) Bench Press your body weight 10 reps
3.) Preform 6 pullups
4.) Dead lift your body weight 6 reps
5.) Preform 100 sit-ups in less then 2 minutes
6.) Run a 300 yard gasser (football field, down and back and down) in under :48 seconds

Im a 6'1" 160 pound left handed pitcher with minimal to any weight lifting experience and background. Ive been given a weight program to follow to help get myself into shape, but what other things can i do to get myself into acceptable shape?

When I got recruited to play college ball and saw how good the players I was competing for playing time were and the competition I was going to face in college, I worked out every single day lifting weights and running. As a pitcher you have to run alot so you can pitch longer in games once the season starts. Running also can help your legs get stronger which is a key thing to players wanting to gain speed on their fastball. If you work on making your legs stronger you will see your fastball speed increase.

You gain the speed when you push off the rubber. It is good you have a weight program combine that with alot of running and you should be fine. I definitly learned the harder you work the more successful things will be in the end.
