OK - I looked up the article you referred to from sandiegochargers.com:

It is an article that lists the 20 most memorable moments in Chargers' history. In reads, in relevant part:
"The Epic in Miami – January 2, 1982
In one of the greatest NFL games ever played, the Chargers score a dramatic, 41-38 victory in overtime over the Miami Dolphins at the Orange Bowl. Trailing with just 58 seconds left, Dan Fouts hits James Brooks on a nine-yard TD pass, tying the game. Despite suffering from severe cramps, Kellen Winslow records an NFL playoff record 13 receptions for 166 yards and a touchdown. He also blocks a field goal to prevent the Dolphins from winning the game. Rolf Benirschke’s 27-yard field goal after 13:52 of overtime gives San Diego the victory. The team is greeted by thousands of ecstatic fans in the stadium parking lot upon its return."

Wikipedia states that this game was voted to the best game ever played by a panel of "experts." That article recalls the game like this:
"In the 1981 playoffs, the Chargers managed to outlast the Miami Dolphins in the divisional round, 41-38, in a game that became known as The Epic in Miami. The game was voted as the best game in NFL history by a panel of ESPN journalists. The temperature was 85°F with high humidity (29.4°C) at the Miami Orange Bowl,[22] but it did not stop either team's offense. The Chargers were led by quarterback Dan Fouts who made the Pro Bowl for the third year in a row,[23] setting an NFL single season record at that point and time of 4,802 yards and 33 touchdowns.[24] The Dolphins were led by head coach Don Shula and featured a defense that gave up the fifth-fewest points in the NFL in the regular season.[25]

This game set playoff records for the most points scored in a playoff game (79),[26] the most total yards by both teams (1,036),[26] and most passing yards by both teams (809).[26] Chargers placekicker Rolf Benirschke eventually kicked the winning 29-yard field goal after 13:52 of overtime to help San Diego beat Miami, 41-38. The image of an exhausted tight end Kellen Winslow, who finished the game with 13 receptions for 166 yards and a touchdown and one blocked field goal, being helped off the field by two of his Chargers teammates has been replayed countless times. Kellen Winslow was voted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995.[27]"

The Chargers won the game - and advanced to the AFC Championship where they lost to the Bengals (with Chris Collingsworth) in a game with -9 degree temperatures and 59 below windchill factor.

The Chargers-Dolphins game was played in a stadium called - The Orange Bowl - the same stadium where the "Orange Bowl" college bowl game was played. Like the Rose Bowl in Pasadena - the stadium has the same name as its college bowl game - thus the apparent ambiguity.
