What do you think of the East Coast bias in college football?

The media seems to cover the same teams all the time and ignore the out-of-the blue-teams that are having a year of a species. The Big 10 will always be Michigan, Ohio St Penn State and the press. I swear I heard more about Penn St. when they were losing then made about Iowa when they were winning. Miami will always be in the spotlight as the top traditional levels of the SEC. Good luck to you if you are a Purdue Mississippi or having a great year, you still going to be just below the deck 'Bamas and Buckeyes. Louisville has come into its own during the past five years or so, but how long it took for the media to start covering the contenders? Notre Dame, however, it has been out for a decade until last year and yet has never been out of the news. The problem with the west coast is that few teams here (I'm in Los Angeles) have any of that traditional power cachet with the media. USC, for sure. Washington had some for a while, and UCLA has a charm true regardless of how they are doing. But otherwise, there is no "traditional" power - and that leads to a vacuum of the mainstream media. Boise St. and, until this year, Fresno St. had some great teams, but saying is undefeated Boise St. (or is it I do not know, frankly) does both by the media saying that power [and the media's favorite Miami] lost another game. (By the way, college basketball is in my view, covered more or less the same way. And unfortunately, a lot of this over-coverage of the "big" teams is a self-fulfilling prophecy: ring because the university becomes only get a handful of big name recruits - instead of football, where a recruit is rarely made any difference - with the "traditional" equipment media tends to make them more visible to blue chippers then, curiously, tend to choose to attend.)
