College Football Overtime Games

Do they always kick the extra point in college football overtimes?
In the game tonight Navy kicked a field goal in the overtime to go up by three points. Pittsburgh failed to score going for the touchdown. If they had scored they would have won the game by three points-do they kick the extra point, which would be meaningless to the final outcome, but very important to the pointspread which was three?
Nope once you outscore the opponent that's all the scoring. It's kinda similar to a tie baseball game where the bases are loaded and someone in the bottom of the 9th hits a ball off the wall that would easily drive in multiple runs. That player gets credited with a single and 1 RBI even though the score would have been higher.
