Why there is no playoff in Div I college football?

In all other college sports there is a playoff Div. Basketball turnament has its final four, there is in baseball, too. There is a second phase in the lower divisions of college football, why not Div I? I frankly do not care if my team wins is cofference and go to a bowl game and win it. That's not important to me. I do not like my team to get the vote of the coaches and other media. I want them to qualify for a turnament, maybe not 64 like basketball, but maybe 15-25 and the last team standing wins period, national champion. No quesions or debate. No need to vote.

There is a playoff in IA football Cap. It is called the regular season, and is double elimination. Lose twice and you're out of the championship running. "Real" playoff would not solve anything. If there were a playoff team in August, some idiots are crying for 9th A loss-highest ranked team that got snubbed in favor of the team's eighth-ranked two loss. It would be a bigger mess.
