How long is the season of BCS.?

I'm in a debate tournament and one of the topics are "A playoff system to determine College Football Championship." I was wondering how long the season and if there was a BCS playoff system instead that the big game season.

There is no BCS station per se. The BCS includes a series of bowls and a National Championship bowl game. Any team that qualifies for a BCS bowl game has only 1 bowl to play. You may be referring to the NCAA Division I-FBS National Football Championship Subdivision, formerly Division 1-A. Basically, there are 12 games in Division 1-A of the regular season. Most experts believe that to have a 2 game playoff system would have to be removed from the regular season.
