NCAA Basketball-An overview of early season championship contenders Jayhawks and Spartans

Let's face it: we are still 5 months before Final Four, but that has not stopped many sports writers and fans to speculate on what teams will make the NCAA Basketball National Championship. The Sports Book Industry has been a little more conservative, as yet to implement CLs for the NCAA championship favorite, but the Jayhawks of Kansas and Michigan State Spartans they are certainly going to be among the top four selections. Let us begin this overview of pre-season with the Jayhawks. They are the No1 ranked preseason team. Not only expected to perform well this season but are expected to take everything, including the National Championship. But being the number 1 ranked team before season starts is not necessarily the best omen for the Jayhawks. It's just a matter of looking back at what happened last time Kansas started the season No. 1, back in 2004-2005. The Jayhawks suffered through one of his most disappointing seasons, just a repeat from 1996 to 1997 in its history otherwise quite impressive. So, why a number? For starters, Kansas returns this year with at least four players in the squad last year Championship: Cole Aldrich, Sherron Collins and Brady Morningstar Tyrell Reed. Moreover, with the exception of the beloved is talented and Matt Kleinmann, everyone again this year. Bill Self, Kansas head coach, is quite optimistic about the teams future. He knows he has a good base of equipment, and the addition of Xavier Henry, hire high school, they will not hurt their ability to promote the creation of a good momentum in March. Sherron Collins is considered by many one of the best guards in the tournament, and Aldrich could be the most consistent center in the league. All this, coupled with the experience and charisma of Bill Self (in its seventh year running with the Jayhawks), makes it very clear why Kansas is the number 1. But not everything that glitters is gold. True. This is also true for the Jayhawks. Things have reached a somewhat vague, to say the least, for the behavior of some players off the field. First, Tyshawn Taylor was involved in an altercation with some football players Kansas over a girl. And not two weeks later, Morningstar was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. Perhaps head coach Bill Self has a great team, but could also have a handful of issues to address player off the field. On the other hand, Michigan State Spartans still have to do sports headlines off the field antics. But they sure made some noise since last year's regional semifinals. Tom Izzo is aiming for a season even better this year. He wants another chance in the championship game, to repeat his "1999-2000 title. Izzo has led Michigan State five Four of the eleven NCAA Final 1999-2009 years, an achievement unmatched by any program in college basketball others during that period. The prospects of winning a National Championship season are there. Kalin Lucas is back, and he is back for good. In fact, the core team championship contenders Michingan State is back in full capacity this year. And you better be, because they face a tough start to the season, taking Gonzaga, Baylor and North Carolina earlier this season. Izzo showed concern about the offensive-defensive teams transition. But the two new kids on the block just might fit well there. Derrick Nix and are fellows Garrick Sherman big and strong that he might replace Gray and Goran Suton Marquis, who left the program last season. The conclusion is that both teams start the season with expectations astronomical. All that remains is for two teams to begin to sharpen your game and see if it can live up to their expectations once the season is underway, when else matters.
