college football rules changes
how many years of college do you have to go through before you can enter the draft?

i thought you had to finish your junior year in college or play three years of football before you could claim eligibility to go to the draft. but going through rivals conference break downs, they were showing sophomores that might leave for the draft. like crabtree who is only a sophomore, but there saying that he could leave. how? did they change the rule and i missed it or have i been wrong about the rule the whole time? please inform me.

The above response is correct,
The rule is 3 years removed from High School.

In the case of Crabtree, he is eligible. He redshirted in 2006. Was a freshmen in 2007. And now a sophmore in 2008. So meets the 3 year requirement, even though he is only a sophmore.

The case with Marice Clarett, whne he tried to challenge the rule, better explains some of the details. Link below.
