College Football Strength Of Schedule
How to incorporate strength training into a really busy sports schedule.?
I want to start strength training for sports and to put on more muscle, but right now im playing lacrosse, flag football at school, rec league basketball, and travel basketball. How can i incorporate strength training into that without burning myself out?
Im 14 years 6 foot 2 and 185 pounds old, basketball is my main sport, but lacrosse is really addicting and fun.
I also need ideas on what excersises and workouts to do. My dad isn't a huge fan of me lifting weights, but he played college football and he lifted weights at my age. So, i dont know whats up. he wants me to just do pull and push (which i do do about three times a week)
pull ups and push ups
Being a dad myself, I imagine that your dad is against you doing a lot of weight lifting because of your age. It has a lot to do with growth plates - you don't want to hurt yourself by trying to lift too much when you're still developing your stature. However, a trip to your doc might ease his mind, and help you determine exactly what is safe for you to do at your age. You could certainly do a lot of pull ups, chin ups and push ups. Believe it or not, these are very effective in developing strength. Running will help your stamina and endurance, but I doubt that is what you're interested in doing right now. I would make a trip to the doctor and get some insight into your physical condition/makeup and take the doc's advice. Sounds like you are a very BUSY young man! Good luck in all your sports!
