Any Thoughts on the new UFL (United Football League) ...?

Here's the deal.

It will only include 4 teams ( San Francisco - New York - Orlando - Las Vegas (whoo hoo! I live in Las Vegas (smiling)

It starts in the fall.

Commissioner Michael Huyghue actually says in his press conference that it will consist mainly of bottom level NFL talent! That in itself is a red flag for me. Think about it this way. Bottom level means former WFL (World Football League) and Arena Football League and other college castoffs who just didn't make it. I think it's interesting to see someone try to make money off this and what the ticket pricing would be. I also look forward to getting some football jerseys and helmets of what I think is another football league headed in the way of past football leagues .. ie .. bankruptcy.

Well here is the thing, unlike the xfl and the old usfl, it is not trying to challenge the nfl and take ratings and revenue from them, therefore it may have a chance but is still gonna be a league for basically nfl rejects. With only 4 teams i dont think other bi market cities like Chicago and L.A. will really watch it, because there really is no local interest for them.
Now if it was like the NBA D-league which is actually a farm system for the NBA and the NFL teams sent their players there like they did to Europe then maybe it would work. The reason why NFL Europe flopped was because you were trying to make a sport only played in America popular in a place outside America and people didn't catch on to it, had they done it here instead maybe it would have been more successful. If the NFL backs it and a decent network picks it up it may work, but i don't think it will. When people want to watch a high level of competition of football and they can't watch the NFL they watch college football, and this is where people see the up andd coming talent for the NFL.
