How can you become eligible to play in college football?

I want to try an play for ULM are UL, an I alawys played football I just never played in highschool. I want to know how would I be able to play in college football. Are if there is any possible way for me to play? Do I get any chances an when?

go to college and try out during their try-outs

once u make it gotta keep up good grades and attend meetings, practices, etc
