Can martial arts soccer players benefit?
I've heard of a guy mixing his offseason training with martial arts such as jujitsu and kempo to improve flexibility and reaction. And in fact stating that his reason for being an all conference linebacker in Florida. Does anyone has been proven.? And if he did do a lot of difference. ?
The entire football team the Kansas City Chiefs are forced to train in martial arts and off during the season, so I would say that there should be merit to that in football ... besides, I have a lot of soccer players who train at my dojo, and for many years ... one of the coaches for a local school suggests our program to them as well and says his team is much better since I started doing five years ago. As for me I played football throughout high school, but it was a serious player. I started but our school was small. I prefer Karate my football so it was different for me and my coaches always jumped my case, because they knew it was more important and obviously, I was a valuable player as a runner. Good luck.
