THOMAS ALVA EDISON was born in Milan, Ohio in 1847. He was an inventor, scientist and businessman. Many of the devices invented influenced much in our lives, the phonograph, movie camera, and bulb. Edison was also a businessman who helped him be able to apply the principles of production mass and teamwork to the process of invention, and is credited with the "establishment of industrial research laboratory first." He is one of the most prolific inventors, which owns U.S. patents 1083 in its name and also patent in the United Kingdom, France and Germany. Many of his inventions contributed to the communication mass - particularly telecommunications. The invention that really made him famous was the phonograph in 1877. Apparently, this invention was so unexpected that people said "Seemed like magic." That's where he became known as "The Wizard of Menlo Park." (D. 1931)
Maximilian Adelbert Baer was born in 1909 in Omaha, Nebraska. It was an American boxer during the 1930s, and once champion World Heavyweight. Baer was also an actor, actor, professional wrestler and referee. Ring Magazine lists him # 22 on its list of the greatest boxers of all time. (D. 1959)
Burton Leon Reynolds, Jr. was born in Lansing, Michigan, in 1936. Mr. Reynolds is an actor who had roles in films such as Deliverance, White Lightning, The Longest Yard, Smokey and the Bandit and Cannonball Run. He attended Florida State University with a college football scholarship, where he was a star runner. However, he tore cartilage in the first game, and during the Christmas holidays that year was in a car accident that ended his football playing career. Then went on to attend Palm Beach Junior College, where he participated in productions of play and won the 1956 Drama Award of the State of Florida. This award includes a grant from Hyde Park Playhouse, a theater, summer theater in New York. He went on tour, performing in Tea and Sympathy. On his return he enrolled in acting classes.
