what happens after an NFL player has completed all four captains out of their patch?

You get a gold star each year you are a captain, but there is only room for 4. Do they change the patch for a captain of the 5th year? As said Peyton Manning when he begins the 2011-12 season?

They have to retire and go into the Hall of Fame. The real answer is nothing. They simply have a 4-star patch on their jerseys.
