8 years old when the fracture of the arm that can play football?
He broke two bones in his forearm on the little displaced large fractured. After 4 weeks, the radiograph shows translucent image of the healing of fractures, but some cracks are still visible. The doctor says that 6 to 8 weeks to heal, but what he does not answer whether the bone is fully healed sufficiently to play against football or should I wait a little longer maybe 10 or more weeks? "The bone is a weak point tends to fracture again? If it passes this season is about to begin September 1 (Week 8 marks of healing)? My son lives for football, but I will not risk long term damage? If you have any experience with this I sure would like some feedback? I've been watching the NFL break and come back in 8 weeks and take big hits both. Soccer DAD
I realize that "your son lives" for football but is 8 years old ... there is no way that the boy be healed and strong enough to play football for 1 September. I think 12-16 weeks to be back to about 100% is more realistic. Make them feel at least the first part of the season if he can, if not then the whole season. No reason to risk of serious injury to the age of 8 to play any sport.
